2021 CRAFT Short Fiction Prize

Thank you to all writers who sent short stories to our 2021 CRAFT Short Fiction Prize! We are delighted to publish the winning entries in October 2021.
Our goal is to contact all writers by July 31, 2021 at the latest. We want to give your work back to you as quickly as possible if it is not advancing; by the middle of May, we will start to release pieces. We hope to have a longlist decided by late July. We hope to have a shortlist of finalists to Kirstin Valdez Quade by early August, with decisions made and winners announced by early September. The winning pieces will publish in October. All work will also be considered for publication in CRAFT.
Kirstin Valdez Quade is the author of the story collection Night at the Fiestas, which won the John Leonard Prize from the National Book Critics Circle, the Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a “5 Under 35” award from the National Book Foundation. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Best American Short Stories, The O. Henry Prize Stories, and elsewhere. She is an assistant professor at Princeton. Her novel The Five Wounds is forthcoming April 2021.
